Evolette (EV-uh-let) is the name of my spiritual direction practice, created by smashing together my two grandmothers’ names—Evon and Juliet. These women shaped me through their deep faith and care for others. Though they have both passed on, their presence remains with me and continues to guide my life and work. Evolette is a way of honoring them and their love and legacy.
The name itself speaks of growth and life. It evokes living and breathing, and a gentle, ongoing becoming. It suggests a graceful change or evolution, which mirrors the slow, sacred work of spiritual direction. Modern yet rare, the name Evolette sounds both soft and strong—much like the presence of patience, quiet strength, and compassion I hope to offer through spiritual direction.

what is spiritual direction?
Spiritual direction is an ancient practice of deep listening and sacred companionship. Together we explore your questions of meaning, purpose, and spirituality, trusting that the wisdom you seek already lives within you. Through conversation and contemplative practices, we listen together.
My role as a spiritual companion is to hold a compassionate, sacred space for you, where you feel safe to explore, ask questions, wonder, and discern meaning for your life.

Spiritual direction is for those longing to deepen their spiritual life, seek meaning, or navigate questions, transitions, or healing. It offers a compassionate, nonjudgmental space to be seen, heard, and accompanied on life’s journey.

A typical session is 55 minutes. Sessions meet over the phone or Zoom. The session usually begins with a short reading or guided meditation to become still and centered. Then, you are invited to share whatever challenges, joys, griefs, wonderings, dreams, intentions (and more) you would like. The session is for you. It is your time and you set the agenda. I will ask questions along the way.

Therapy or counseling is typically diagnostic and goal-oriented, focusing on symptom relief and coping skills.
Spiritual direction centers on deepening your connection with the divine or inner wisdom, trusting that you already carry the answers, and discovering your own unique path forward. This path is yours to discover and embody, not mine to prescribe or diagnose.
I follow the Guidelines for Ethical Conduct established by Spiritual Directors International.

A 55-minute session is $95. Pay what you can/sliding scale available. I accept Venmo, Cash App, and PayPal. Payment will be discussed at your first session. Typically, the frequency of sessions is once a month, but it is flexible and based on individual needs.
